What's cookin?

Roasted banana ice cream with toasted pecans and maple syrup is what's cookin. I bought a beautiful, never used Cuisinart ice cream maker last spring for $10 off of Craigslist. I think I need to break it out and make this. I love to make my own ice cream because I know what is going into it. It might not be the healthiest but I think I can be OK with that.

This website (foodgawker feed your eyes) is the best gosh darn food website ever. I love the layout and it is so easy to browse around on the pages. It is a collection of recipes that people blog about. I love it because it is not some random group in a test kitchen. It is real people giving you great recipes that they have tried out. They often give you their opinion and tips about the recipe. You can search any kind of recipe and save it to your favorites to refer to later. It will go down in your favorites, trust me.

What's for breakfast..........banana dogs

This morning we had banana dogs for breakfast. I had some whole wheat hot dog buns that were creeping closer and closer to the freezer so I thought about how I could use them. I have no hot dogs so I made banana dogs.

Take a hot dog bun
Spread peanut butter on the inside
Add a peeled banana to the middle

Lily asked me what it was........fun in a bun my dear, fun in a bun.

Free Childrens Museum this Friday

Providence Children's Museum has free admission this Friday from 5pm - 8pm. They are doing a construct your own hoop glider project in the Fetch lab from 5:30-7:30. This activity is open to ages 5-11. I love the Children's museum. I always take advantage of the free Fridays.

Well here I am in the blogging world. I have been thinking about blogging for a little while now and I am excited to get started. I try my best to save money for our family wherever I can. I am a penny pincher to say the least. I hate, and I mean hate to spend money on things that I know I can get for a better price. I'm a little green, a little crunchy, a little cheap and a little silly. I have a toddler running around our house and my life is a little chaotic at times but I try to make the best of any situation I am in. Life is too short and full of too many blessings to not enjoy it. This is my journey with Lilyblessings.
